Introduction of College
FG Allama Iqbal Degree College, Lahore Cantt, was established under the administrative control of the FGEI (Cantts/Garrison) Directorate in 1987. In 1988 it started working as an intermediate college for boys in affiliation with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad. Another milestone in the history of the college came in 1999, when it was elevated to the status of a degree college and was affiliated with the Punjab University, Lahore. B.Sc. classes started in the year 2005. In 2022, the college was first among FG Colleges and one among thirty-nine colleges in Punjab that were shortlisted to liaise with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) under its project of Pakistan Education & Research Network (PERN). In 2024, the college under the auspices of FGEI entered a new phase with the establishment of FGEI’s own university, National University of Pakistan (NUP). Currently, the college is affiliated with the National University of Pakistan (NUP) for its BS Programs.

For the last many years, Federal Government Educational Institutions have carved a distinctive niche in the education system of the country by the tutelage and dissemination of valuable knowledge to hundreds of thousands of students. Being mindful of the fact that education is the corner stone for the development and progress of our country, our institutions are contributing by imparting quality education to a large segment of the society. Here in FGEI's, we aim not only at providing appropriate infrastructure/foundation and opportunities to the students for achieving academic success but also at empowering them to make them realize their innate potential and talents.
